Another Clinton-related post

jwisser @ April 26, 2008 # 2 Comments

I’m sick, and therefore incapable of writing (or at least unwilling to), but I thought I’d pass along this excellent piece on why Hillary Clinton is so bad for the country and the Democratic party right now.

Stealing from myself

I already posted this poem on Facebook, but I suppose I’m allowed to plagiarize myself, and I like this setting for it better.  Also, sorry about the previous post… the idea occurred to me and I just couldn’t resist.  Anyway, poem:
A fair young maid dressed all in white
Sat there beneath a tree.
Atop a stone, with [...]

Dancing Lessons From God

“Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God.”  –Cat’s Cradle, by Kurt Vonnegut
Tonight, after carrying it for about 11 months, I found the person I was holding the crucifix I bought in Woodstock for.  We were talking about spirits and intuition and the way we both know when someone in our family is going to [...]

Artificial Meat

jwisser @ April 21, 2008 # No Comment Yet

No, it’s not a dildo joke.  PETA has decided to set up a $1000000 prize for the first person or team to produce artificial (or rather, not-from-an-animal) meat in large quantities.  Curiously, they’ve set a deadline of 2012.  I wonder whether that was an arbitrary pick or whether the Mayan calendar led to the choice.

On experimental living…

jwisser @ April 21, 2008 # No Comment Yet

The modern educational system, depending on who you ask, is either a miracle or a nightmare.  Most folks will say it’s a miracle, if one that could do with some work, but I’m increasingly of the opinion that… well, let’s just say it could do with a lot of work.  Personally, I feel it stifles [...]

On experimental worship…

More churches should try things like this.  It’s an important truth that not everyone can reach their spiritual epiphanies in the same way or at the same time.
